Veterans Prayer Breakfast - October 16, 2007
Veterans, family members and friends of veterans gather each month to share news and fellowship. The next meet date is October 16th. Meetings are from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Fleming Center (Cathedral of the Incarnation) on 2001 West End Ave. in Nashville, TN. Everyone is invited!

15th Annual Operation Stand Down Event - October 12-14, 2007
The 15th Annual Operation Stand Down Event has been scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 12, 13 and 14, 2007 at the TN State Guard Facility on the grounds of the old TN Preparatory School, Menzler Avenue, Nashville, TN. Stalag 17 (The Play) - Opens October 26
Pull-Tight Players, the community theatre of Franklin, TN, announces its production of the World War II comedy-drama, Stalag 17. The play, was the basis for the award-winning Billy Wilder film of 1953 about Prisoners of War in a German prison camp.that continually try to escape as well as embarrass and exasperate their captors. This production is sure to offer plenty of laughs, memorable characters, and even more memorable performances. Dates are: October 26-28, November 1-4, 8-10. StoryCorps Griot Initiative Visits Memphis to Collect WWII Veterans' Stories - November 1-December 8
The Memphis Public Library & Information Center will have the StoryCorps Griot in front of the Memphis Central Library from November 1-December 8. StoryCorps Griot is a one-year initiative, funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to preserve the voices, experiences, and life stories of African Americans. The StoryCorps Griot Initiative will place a special emphasis on the stories of World War II veterans. All participants receive a copy of their forty-minute recording on CD, and copies are sent to the National Museum of African American History and Culture and to the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. Nashville Regional City Veterans Day Parade - November 12, 2007 (Monday)
The parade will step off at 11:00 a.m., marching East on Broadway from the I-40/I-65 Bridge to 3rd Avenue.

Fleet Reserve Association Branch 110 Meeting

The Women Veterans Network
All women who have served in the military are invited to attend this outreach and educational group offered by the VA Tennessee ValleyHealthcare System. There is no charge. Meetings are held in Nashville, Chattanooga area, Clarksville/Ft. Campbell, and the Knoxville area. Volunteer Unit #94 of WAVES National
WAVES National is an organization of Women of the Sea Services-U.S. Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard. Our local Volunteer Unit is open to all Women, who are serving or have served honorably, either in active, reserve, retired, or veteran status of the Sea Services, U.S. Army and Air Force.
